One of Nike’s Most Iconic Air Force 1s Is Returning for the Second Year in a Row — but With a Key Change

Canvas replaces leather on the "Linen" edition.

Last year saw the return of the Nike Air Force 1 “Linen,” one of the most heralded of all colorways for the sneaker. Since its debut as a Japan-exclusive Co.Jp release in 2001, the sneaker had only been reissued once through a Kith-hosted drop in 2016. 2025 will now see the sneaker brought back for the second year in a row, albeit with a change in materials you may not expect.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Canvas Linen” sees the legendary sneaker rendered in canvas rather than leather (or linen). The bulk of the upper is now rendered in canvas in the shoe’s namesake color, while leather does remain for the pink Swoosh. Just as before, a white midsole hosts pink “Air” branding while sitting atop an outsole that also makes use of the soft hue.

This first look at the AF1 Low “Linen” in canvas comes via Alive, a Mexican boutique that’s already stocked the sneaker.

Despite the lore behind the colorway, the Air Force 1 Low “Linen” ended up sitting at many retailers, demonstrating the disconnect between the history of sneaker culture and many contemporary consumers. Such overlooking did make the sneaker quite easy to purchase for longtime collectors who may have never thought they’d get a pair, which would be hard to consider anything but a win.

Chances are the phenomenon will repeat itself with the “Canvas Linen” edition, which is still available in a full-size run from Alive.

The Air Force 1 Low “Canvas Linen” hasn’t yet been confirmed for a wider release date, but it will likely come sooner than later. Expect a retail price of roughly $130.
