Pockets are abound for Nicole McLaughlin‘s second Vans collaboration. Not only is the in-demand upcycler turning the Vans Slip-On into a bag, but she’s also dropping a bag and even socks that offer a storage solution.

The Nicole McLaughlin x Vans Slip-On RS, short for “rucksack,” outfits the classic sneaker with a backpack-style pocket above the toe and adjustable nylon webbing running on both the lateral and medial sides. Those familiar with McLaughlin will recognize her cheeky approach to design, but the surplus features are indeed functional and challenge you to play with them.

Two colorways, “Tan” and “Grey,” will be available, and each pair makes use of 40 percent recycled canvas and 80 percent organic cotton. The upper has also been treated with PFC-free DWR for waterproofing, and a lugged outsole provides more grip than your standard Slip-On.

Alongside the kicks, a double-pouched pack will release in “Oatmeal.” Perhaps even funnier, a “rucksock” will see pockets added onto socks in the same color.

“It’s key to have elements of functionality, mixed with a sense of conceptual art and style,” McLaughlin said in a press release. “Creating pieces that can be multi-purpose, but also fun has always been my goal. I was inspired by vintage hiking packs from the ‘70s and the aesthetic of outdoor gear from that era for the collection.”

In addition to designing the product, McLaughlin shot and styled the campaign herself.

The Nicole McLaughlin x Vans Slip-On RS and accompanying accessories will release. Wednesday, March 26, through both parties’ websites and March 27 through select third-party retailers. The grey sneaker will be exclusive to Vans and McLaughlin’s websites. Pricing for the collection runs from $25 to $130.
