New Balance‘s Made in USA collections have long been heralded for their high quality and tasteful color schemes. They’ve taken on even greater significance since Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis began stewarding them as creative director upon his appointment in 2021, bringing with him both the design sensibilities and hype that have made ALD such a key partner for New Balance.

This week will bringing the arrival of three more sneakers from Santis’ Made in USA line, as the fall collection commences with its first drop.

The 998 and 990v4 take on matching “Olive Incense” colorways, with the namesake faded green claiming the majority of the territory on both sneakers in suede and mesh. Tan then forms select suede accenting panels, while additional hits of white, grey, and cream maintain the tasteful arrangement.

Standing out on its own is a 990v6 in “Burgundy Tan.” The deep red forms most of the suede and mesh upper, while tan and an even deeper red provide accenting panels. Additional hits then arrive in white, grey, and black.

New Balance applies its “Made in USA” label to sneakers with “at least” 70 percent of its components being made domestically. A lawsuit filed by New Balance customers, however, claims that other 30 percent is misleading and is still ongoing.

In addition to the sneakers, a small run of basics will also release this week under the “Made in USA” banner and is composed of a quarter-zip, crewneck sweatshirt, hoodie, long- and short-sleeve tee, and sweatpants. As the season continues, the Made in USA collection will grow to include the 996 and additional variants for the 990v4 and 998.

The New Balance Made in USA 990v4, 998, and 990v6 will all release Thursday, Oct. 26, through New Balance’s website and select additional retailers. Pricing for the former two sneakers is set at $210, while the latter is $220.
