New Balance’s 991v2 sneaker will soon get the “Made in UK” treatment with a color scheme bringing to mind the Union Jack.

The New Balance 991v2 “Made in UK” is slated to release in June in an off-white, red and blue colorway that could be one of the model’s most popular yet. Shades of off-white and grey make up the premium pigskin suede, mesh and synthetic leather upper. Shades of blue are then saved for the branding and Abzorb SBS pods, with both colors used for the “Made in England” tongue tag and “v2” mustache logo. Blue forms the “991” mark on the heel, as well as the Abzorb pods below, while red takes over the tech’s appearance near the toe. The shoe is then rounded off with an eggshell midsole and sand outsole.

New Balance just rolled out the “v2” version of its iconic 991 model last year, 22 years after the original launched on its way to becoming one of the brand’s most heralded silhouettes. Changes to the upper are more subtle, but the sole unit underwent significant upgrades with full-length FuelCell cushioning. Stone Island was tapped to debut the silhouette through a collaboration before in-line releases from New Balance followed, including a significant amount that were made in the brand’s Flimby, England factory.

“Made in UK” denotes hand-made construction with higher quality materials, much like New Balance’s “Made in USA” and “Made in Japan” series. The village factory known for its use of a specially treated pigskin that stands out in the sneaker landscape.

The New Balance 991v2 “Made in USA” in off-white, red and blue will release June 1 through the brand’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $230.
