Vans has honored Mac Miller with a limited-edition sneaker collaboration.
While commemorating the five-year anniversary of Miller’s album “Swimming,” the skate brand’s Vans x Mac Miller “Swimming” Authentic style also coincidentally marks the late rapper’s passing — which occurred mere weeks later in September 2018. However, now that the style has sold out, we tracked down where you can still buy a pair — as well as the deeper meaning behind its imagery.

Vans x Mac Miller’s collaborative shoes were made in partnership with the late rapper’s estate, featuring Vans’ signature Authentic sneakers with a low-top silhouette, rounded toes and thin white laces. The pair features black canvas uppers with a white yin-and-yang symbol — a signature of the musician — on each toe. The shoe’s white outsoles are also printed with black lettering proclaiming “Mac Miller 1992 ‘Til,” ending with a looped infinity symbol to symbolize the longevity of Miller’s legacy in music.
The style was subtly announced on social media by Vans. In August, the skate brand shared images of the shoes on its Instagram Stories, which included photos of the shoe, its website link and partnership with the Mac Miller Fund — which provides financial support to young musicians.
Miller frequently wore Vans’ Authentic sneakers while off-duty and during his own performances over the years prior to his passing. One instance included the late musician’s viral One Love Manchester benefit concert performance with then-girlfriend Ariana Grande in Manchester, England in 2017.
Currently, the Vans x Mac Miller “Swimming” Authentic sneakers are fully sold out on Miller’s merchandise website. However, pairs are now available in a range of sizes on various resale platforms. On StockX, shoes range in price from $394 to $975, while others can be bid upon. On eBay, the shoes vary in price from $490 to $1,200, depending on their size and condition.
Vans’ Authentic sneaker release with Mac Miller is its latest co-branded launch in 2023. The skate label has also launched a slew of collaborations in recent months with a wide range of labels, including Supreme, Gucci, Barbie and Haribo, among numerous others.
