Kyrie Irving Debuted New Anta Kai Skate Shoes and Said They’ll Only Cost $70

Kyrie Irving is making the most of the NBA offseason.

The Dallas Mavericks star made an appearance Saturday in Chicago at the WayMaker Men’s Summit. And recently in his downtime, Irving took to streaming platform Twitch to talk with fans. On both occasions, his growing signature sneaker line with Anta was highlighted, with a new model and colorways of the Kai label’s lifestyle options being revealed for the very first time.

At the WayMaker Men’s Summit, Irving wore his Anta Kai Tribe sneakers in a new brown, black and red style which has a look reminiscent of Travis Scott’s sneaker collaborations. The leather-and-suede shoes were first previewed in May and are the first lifestyle sneakers to be released under Irving’s Anta Kai signature line.

On his Twitch livestream, Irving elaborated on the Kai Tribe. The NBA star also shared a look at the Kai Tribe in a new beige colorway.

“Skate shoes that are being designed over in China right now,” Irving said of the new style. “$70 price point, you know, making sure that this is a great lifestyle shoe you could pick up any time, anywhere. You see my shoelaces, I was wearing them all year. Had a chance to debut them a few times. They’re only China exclusive right now, but you know me, I’m definitely pushing to get them to America. So shout-out to the US Anta team, we have something cooking up.”

In addition to the Kai Tribe, Irving revealed a previously unseen — and currently unnamed — skate shoe. “The concept is really to go more high fashion, lifestyle,” Irving said.

The new sneaker featured a black suede upper with a split tongue, but its most distinct detail was multiple sets and shades of shoelaces covering the top of the shoe. A price point for this pair was not announced.

While the new colorways of the Kai Tribe may be China exclusives for now, the sneaker’s black and white styles have been released via Anta’s Singapore outlets and are available online from sg.anta.com for S$119 each, which converts to roughly $91 USD. Pairs have also found their way to StockX, where the sneakers are reselling for closer to their expected US retail prices.
