Kith and New Balance are linking once again, this time in celebration of the world’s most famous arena.
Two colorways of the Made in USA 990v6 take inspiration from Madison Square Garden. Both variants make use of blue and orange, which are, of course, the colors of the New York Knicks, another entity that’s grown close with Kith. Kith founder Ronnie Fieg was named the team’s creative director last year, and this year marks the fourth in a row that Kith has designed the Knicks’ alternate “City Edition” uniforms.
The Knicks colors play more accenting roles on both versions of the 990v6, which instead take on “Sandrift” and “Navy” as the primary colors. Tonal arrangements define their respective uppers, with the Knicks colors then used sparingly for details such as the “N” logo, tongue tag, and more. Branding for Kith and MSG appear on the sockliner, while an MSG dust bag is also included with each pair. Perhaps the most fun flourish arrives via the box, which features “Madison Square Garden” in the style of tile signage from the city’s subway stations.

Like all of New Balance‘s Made in USA sneakers, both variants feature “at least” 70 percent of its construction in America.
Kith’s raffle for its Madison Square Garden x New Balance 990v6s is open now on the Kith app through Monday, Nov. 6. A more standard first-come, first-served release will also go down Nov. 6 through Kith’s website and select physical stores. Retail is set at $220.
