Kith and Birkenstock are linking once again, as Ronnie Fieg has announced a dynamic new take on the London silhouette.
A braided treatment lines the London’s suede upper, drawing immediate comparisons to Nike’s recently relaunched Air Footscape Woven. Braids run a full circle around the clog just above the midsole, with the “Biscuit” colorway adding a red leather cord down the middle to make the standout feature pop even further. At the end of the buckled strap, Kith‘s script logo is debossed.
The all-black and “Taupe” colorways feature Birkenstock‘s signature cork footbed, while the “Biscuit” variant uses shearling for the footbed and lining for a cozy wear all winter long. “Biscuit” also opts for a more complex arrangement with a grey-ish green midsole and dark brown outsole, while “Taupe” has a matching footbed to go along with another dark brown outsole.
Amid Birkenstock’s recent explosion in popularity, the London has received less attention than other models such as the Boston and Arizona. Intended originally for healthcare professionals, the London features both a closed toe and closed heel with two distinct panels constructing the upper. Kith previously released another shearling-lined version of the silhouette in 2022.
The Kith x Birkenstock London Braided releases Friday, Dec. 1, through Kith’s app, website, and worldwide stores. Pricing has not yet been announced.
