Bape Will Help Introduce Damian Lillard’s Adidas Dame 9 Sneaker at the End of August
Damian Lillard and Bape are rekindling their collaboration from 2018 to help introduce his newest signature sneaker.
The Bape x Adidas Dame 9 will release at the end of August in at least two colorways clad with the Japanese streetwear brand’s iconic camo print. Red and green variants have been confirmed for the capsule, as both feature black as the anchoring color. On each, the shoe’s upper third appears in black with its respective color tracing outlines of camouflage. The red version gets two-tone Cloud Camo for the upper’s sweeping overlay, while the green variant brings more contrast with the print in its familiar form. Gold embossed branding hits see the Ape Head logo on the lateral heel and Bape Sta on the mustache.
Both colorways also come with camo laces, and the green edition adds a gum outsole above the black midsole. Its red counterpart maintains its more straight forward two-color look with a red outsole.

Noted sneaker leaker @brandon1an indicated his belief that the third colorway in white, black and red will release exclusively through Bape.
Lillard’s ninth signature sneaker comes nearly three years after the Dame 8 first released and after a rollout the commenced during NBA All-Star weekend in February. A retooled Dame 8 ExtPly came out nearly a year ago, and while tech specs are yet to come, the Dame 9 has clearly been subject to more significant revisions.
Lillard and Bape previously linked up for All-Star weekend in 2018 to create three Dame 4 variants making use of both Cloud Camo and the shark graphic from the label’s famous full-zip hoodies. The red variant was exclusive to a festival event hosted by Adidas in Los Angeles.
The Bape x Adidas Dame 9‘s red and green colorways will release August 31 through the Confirmed app. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
