After setting a Sacramento Kings franchise scoring record with his career-high 60-point game on Friday, De’Aaron Fox is keeping the momentum going with the official launch of his much-teased Curry Fox 1 signature sneaker.
Under Armour announced Tuesday that the Curry Fox 1 will debut in its “Happy Fox Day” colorway on Dec. 6. According to the brand, the bright blue-and-orange sneaker is inspired by Fox’s love of Christmas and his favorite holiday movie. The brand says the Curry Fox 1 has been in development for a year, resulting in a low-cut, running shoe-inspired design that stands out in the brand’s lineup.
The Curry Fox 1 combines personalized details with performance technologies suited for the Kings’ star’s play style. References include a fox tail-inspired strap — which the brand says doubles as a support feature and as an opportunity for graphic treatments — and fox “fur” on the tongue, which also includes his very own logo. Primarily mesh-based, the Curry Fox 1 features suede overlays for added durability and a TPU heel counter to keep the foot in place. Cushioning is provided by Under Armour’s Flow technology, which has become a staple of Stephen Curry’s signature sneakers.

“Together we created a sneaker that not only performs at the highest level on the court but truly feels authentic to me in its design and every detail,” Fox said in a press release. “From the fox tail on the strap to the sleek silhouette to the colorful accents, everything about this sneaker embodies the joy and passion I try to bring to my game every single day.”
Curry, who serves as brand president for Under Armour’s Curry Brand, elaborated on what makes the Fox 1 unique. “He took his own approach with it in the Fox 1 and made it his own, adding his personal touches with his background and his story,” Curry added. “The most obvious feature that you have not seen in any other Curry Band sneaker is the strap. It’s this cool feature that adds a little bit of a different aesthetic to the shoe.”
Following the debut of the “Happy Fox Day” style, the Curry Fox 1 will be released in two additional colorways before the year is over. A green-based “Happy Fox Day Alt” style will launch on Fox’s birthday, Dec. 20, followed by the “The Beam” pair on Dec. 27. The latter was worn by Fox during Friday’s 60-point overtime performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
