Chad Muska Is Launching His Own Independent Shoe Brand
Chad Muska has created an independent shoe brand for the second time in his career.
The professional skater for more than 30 years spent the weekend teasing his new brand, Muska. It’s the latest venture for 2020 Skateboarding Hall of Fame Inductee, following his departure from Supra in 2020 and the influential éS Muska signature shoe first introduced in 1998.
“No major shoe companies called to work with me; so I started my own,” Muska said in an Instagram post Friday. “This is the start to an uphill battle against the giants. I have been training my whole life for this moment. More info coming soon.”
Campaign images show a model wearing an all-white high-top not far off from Supra’s flagship Skytop. Two posts also showed piles of Muska-branded boxes piled up in his living room.

The éS Muska is known best for its stash pocket, which offered a discreet location in the tongue to hide any items (or substances) and has been mimicked in Nike SB releases, as well as a number of 420-themed sneakers.
Muska was one of several pro skaters to partner with Angel Cabada to found Supra in 2006. It underwent several ownership changes and relaunches from 2015 to 2020 before being targeted to the South Korean market in 2020.
In a deleted Instagram post from 2021, Muska said: Although I am grateful for Supra, I also learned a very valuable lesson while working for them all these years, that lesson is, I will never dedicate my life and creative contributions to a corporation that never cared about me, they only cared about making as much money off my Passion, Skateboarding and Designs as they could.”
