Arc’teryx’s Sleek Long-Distance Trail Runner Is Out Now With and Without Gore-Tex

The Norvan LD 4 comes as part of the brand's new push with footwear designed entirely in-house.

Arc’teryx shed the training wheels last year by no longer enlisting the services of Salomon, sister brand under the Amer Sports umbrella, and releasing footwear designed entirely in-house. 2025 is bringing an even bigger push in its bid for the outdoor sneaker market, and a long-distance trail runner key to the initiative is now out.

The Norvan LD 4 is a trail runner minimalist in its appearance but with no shortage of tech for logging miles on uneven paths. Available with or without Gore-Tex, the model features a sleek woven polyester upper with laminated TPU reinforcement zones. An external midfoot frame frame and stronger heel lock help to eliminate toe bang, and underneath the foot is a dual-density midsole designed to offer a trifecta of shock-absorption, stability and comfort. Even further down, a Vibram Megagrip outsole with a custom, adaptable 4mm lugs stands up to a variety of surfaces and dispels of mud.

A stack height of 25mm comes in with a low profile and is offset by 6mm.

In a feature story on Arc’teryx’s gameplan for 2025, vice president of of footwear Ovidio Garcia told Footwear News: “This shoe is really the one shoe for any adventure in the mountains where your underfoot confidence and stability is essential.”

For its launch, the Norvan LD 4 is available in a wide range of colorways unique to men’s and women’s sizes. The Men’s Gore-Tex version is available in monochrome treatments of black, “Stone Green” and “Rune” beige, and the women’s counterpart also features in all-black while diverging with options in “Moonstone” lavender and “Arctic Silk White.”

Sans Gore-Te, the men’s Norvan LD 4 offers choices of black and white, brown and white, black and grey, tonal orange and tonal blue. Women’s sizing features in a pink white and grey combo, as well as a different tonal orange variant, black and grey and, finally, black, grey and white.

The Arc’teryx Norvan LD4 is out now through Arc’Teryx’s website, with the regular version priced at $170 and Gore-Tex at $200.
