Although sneaker fans got confirmation yesterday that the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Varsity Red” won’t be released to the public, there was still plenty of coveted footwear up for grabs at NBA All-Star Weekend. In particular, Jordan Brand went all out Saturday with its Jordan Fam Fest event, which drew massive crowds of hopeful shoppers.

Rather than solely offering the preannounced lineup of All-Star Weekend sneakers, Jordan Brand dipped into its trove of upcoming 40th anniversary releases to give attendees an early opportunity to purchase some of the year’s most anticipated shoes. In some cases, not only were the sneakers available to buy early, but it was the first time they had been seen publicly altogether.

The early release pairs which generated the most buzz on social media were the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 Retro, “White Cement” Air Jordan 4 Retro and the “Navy” Nike SB x Air Jordan 4, but those were far from the only styles available.

Other sneakers included in the lineup were “Rare Air” Air Jordan 1s for both men and women, “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1s, “Rare Air” Air Jordan 4s, the Air Jordan 11 Low “Bred,” All-Star colorways of the Jordan Luka 3 and Jordan Tatum 3, and the women’s Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn Low.

Also made available at the event was the upcoming “I’m Back” Union x Air Jordan 1, although it was only launched through Nike’s geo-specific SNKRS Pass service.

And that’s not all. At Foot Locker’s All-Star Weekend activation, the retailer held an early launch of the “Flu Game” Air Jordan 12 Retro and the “Lucky Shorts” Air Jordan 3 Retro.

The surprise All-Star Weekend launches were met with a warm reception on social media, with many praising Jordan Brand for bringing unexpected energy to the event.

For those who weren’t in San Francisco, there will still be chances to purchase all of the aforementioned sneakers in the coming weeks.
