New York City-based fashion label Advisry is releasing its first-ever sneaker.

According to the 10-year-old brand, it will release the new Vector sneaker exclusively on GOAT.com on Friday. The slip-on silhouette pairs a mixed-material upper with an exaggerated sole and will come in three colorways – black, silver and “Hypnotiq” blue. It retails for $268.

In an exclusive interview with FN, Advisry designer Keith Herron said that the newest addition to his collection reflects his unique design philosophy while also remaining versatile.

“I set out to design a sneaker that could work with all of the clothes that I design,” Herron told FN. “Versatile enough to wear with jeans and a T-shirt as well as tailored suiting; Something appropriate for all kinds of contexts. Vector needed to tie together the three artistic modes I design for: craft, performance and celebration.”

The designer noted that the Vector took over three years to perfect. “I received the first samples in 2021 and spent the next two-plus years iterating on the initial design,” Herron said. “[But], if I had it my way this would’ve come out in 2022, but there were many hurdles in the sampling and development process. I needed to personally stress test it so I could ensure it could withstand wear and really live up to its slogan: ‘A Fit For All.’”

And while the Vector may be Herron’s debut sneaker, it isn’t his first shoe. “The first shoe I ever designed was actually a sandal that I released while I was still in high school,” the designer said. “That was back in 2018, and in the years that followed I released some other footwear but never a sneaker. When I first debuted Vector on the runway, it was alongside a hiking boot silhouette called Himalaya. The following season I introduced the Heart Mary Jane and most recently, the Stadium Mary Jane. So Advisry’s footwear offering has spanned from hikers to hard bottoms to sandals and now sneakers.”

Looking ahead, more sneakers could be in the works for Advisry. “I’m always designing and right now we have plans to finish development of Himalaya, our hiking boot,” Herron added. “I have another sneaker that is more athletic and a new boot is coming as well.”
