After announcing a new partnership in January, Adidas and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team have launched their debut collection.
Seven different shoes feature in the assortment, all of which make use of the racing team’s Tiffany green. An SL 72, the archival running shoe Adidas began pushing hard again in 2024, is the sneaker with the bright color in most abundance, as it forms the majority of the suede and nylon upper. Silver Mercedes-AMG branding can be found on the mustache, while co-branding features on the insole.
Black and white colorways of the Barreda Decode, a lesser-sung Adidas model with a T-toe, both continue with the branding arrangement while applying Tiffany Green on the stripes, mustache and tongue tag.
Two versions of Feroza, an out-and-out racing shoe, look almost identical with their black, green and white color schemes — but the $30 difference in pricing suggests different technologies, even if the product descriptions don’t shed further light.
Rounding out the footwear options is a largely white Lightblaze sneaker and Tiffany Blue Adilette Comfort slide. The wider range of apparel then includes authentic team jerseys, polos, T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, hats and more.
“The collection is the culmination of hard work and dedication from our creation teams to deliver a collection that supports the sporting performance of the whole team in everything they do and is also one that fans can proudly wear both on the streets and in the stands at races,” Adidas product lead Bianca Mast said in a product release. “We believe sport is for everyone, at every level, and motorsport is no different. Together with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, the prospect of bringing the pinnacle of motorsports to a new audience is a one that truly excites us – and we can’t wait to see the famous three stripes in the paddock this season.”
The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team x Adidas collection is out now through Adidas’ website. Pricing for the footwear runs from $50 for the slides up to $130 for the higher-end Feroza.
