Here’s Your First Look at Anthony Edwards’ Second Signature Sneaker From Adidas
News off 500 jobs cut, the last Yeezy sold and 19 percent rise in revenue weren’t the only news to come out of Adidas’ earnings call for the fourth quarter of 2024. A sneak peak was also given for the Anthony Edwards 2, the successor to the highly successful signature sneaker debut known for a short time as the AE 1.
A teaser photo for the Adidas Anthony Edwards 2 was initially obtained by Complex, and the partial glance indicates a significant change for the sneakers’ TPU overlay. Knit takes over the majority of the upper’s surface, whereas it was previously consumed by the arrow-shaped overlay with honeycomb vents. Rippling stitches give it a quilted look, and a new dynamic overlay now shifts to the forefoot as a thin obtuse triangle runs from toe up along the lines of the tongue. A pink, orange and black colorway unites the Anthony Edwards 2 with the “With Love” launch colorway for Edwards’ first signature model.
Bjørn Gulden neither named the shoe shown on the webcast nor spoke about the Anthony Edwards 2 at all in the course of the call. But the appearance of Edwards logo, even obscured, on the tongue removes any doubt of what was shown.

The Anthony Edwards 1, which had been called the AE 1 up until last summer, has been widely lauded since first hitting stores at the end of 2023. Along with the Harden Vol. 8, which has been succeeded in spirit and in praise by the Harden Vol. 9 this year, Edwards’ sneaker has cast Adidas Basketball in a refreshing new light. It was very quickly thrown among some of the best signature shoe debuts of all-time, generating high levels of anticipation and expectation for its sequel.
Little else has been revealed about the Adidas Anthony Edwards 2 yet, but it will likely release before the end of 2025. Footwear News will keep you abreast of any updates.
