Nike‘s had plenty of visibility at the Rio Olympics, but nothing has turned heads quite like the brand’s vibrant Free RN Flyknit “Medal Stand” running shoes.
The volt-colored sneakers have been worn by Team USA’s winning athletes during at the podium, and according to USA Today, the gymnastics teams have taken quite a liking to the attention-grabbing footwear.
“Oh, we love these things. They’re so bright. You can’t miss us. You can see them from a mile away,” said star gymnast Simone Biles.
“I love them. I saw that Brazil has the same ones, so I think they figured bright yellow goes with every single color. It’s very 2016. It’s on trend,” said Aly Raisman.
With nearly 100 athletes already taking to the podium in the shoes, the volt Flyknit sneakers have been impossible to miss at the event.
The sneakers are winning over the men’s team, too. “They’re so comfy. And they’re bright. I love it. I mean, I’m from Miami. I’m all about bright colors,” said silver medalist Danell Leyva.
