Ballers and sneakerheads alike have high praise for Golden State Warriors two-time NBA Most Valuable Player guard Stephen Curry‘s signature shoes with Under Armour. But it’s safe to say that the brand’s latest release — the Curry Two Low “Chef” — isn’t exactly a fan favorite.
The social media world erupted when images of the shoe, which arrived in stores Thursday for $120, started circulating. The “Chef” iteration features a simple white, black and light gray color palette, which many feel gives it an older look — the cause of the Twitter and Instagram roasting.
Curry’s shoes continue to sell out of stores, so one bump in the road doesn’t mean his franchise is doomed (Nike Air Monarch, anyone?), but it is enough fodder for the internet to have a field day. Here are a few of the more humorous responses to the “Chef” release.
