Reebok Collects 2,000 Fan Messages For Ronda Rousey’s Hand Wraps
Devout UFC fans follow every word their beloved fighter speaks. But during training for UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey’s upcoming fight at UFC 193 against Holly Holm, she will be bringing the words of her fans wherever she works out.
Reebok, which sponsors both the UFC and Rousey, collected messages from her fans through a social media campaign using the hashtag #MoreThanTape from Sept. 15-17. The messages collected over social media platforms over the three-day period will be printed on the tape that will secure her hand wraps worn during training sessions for her upcoming bout.
More than 2,000 messages were collected from the campaign, which reached more than 155 million people through the #MoreThanTape hashtag.
“My hand wraps mean so much more to me than most fighters out there. Each ball of tape I create after a training session equates to a day of hard work and another step toward achieving my goals as a fighter and human,” Rousey said in a statement. “To have the support of my fans printed on something that means an incredible amount to me is really inspirational, and I can’t wait to receive the hand wraps during training camp.”

Rousey will defend her title against Holm in Melbourne, Australia, on Nov. 14.
Reebok signed Rousey on Dec. 16, 2014, along with fighter Jon Jones, who has since been suspended from the UFC and dropped by the brand following a hit-and-run arrest.
The athletic label unveiled its UFC Fight Kit on June 30, featuring the apparel and footwear the fighters will wear on the walk to the octagon.
