Reef’s ambassadors have taken the brand’s fall ’16 footwear on a picturesque surf-and-turf adventure in Portugal.
In a new “Just Passing Through” video series released by the label, Mike Lay, Mitch Crews, Evan Geiselman, Paige Maddison, Victoria Vergara and Tia Blanco explore the country’s shores and historical landscapes — while showcasing its fall ’16 line of active footwear.
Some of the shoes featured in the short film include surfer Lay wearing the men’s Rover Mid FGL ($110), which incorporates a leather upper and compression molded triple density construction that improves comfort and traction.
Meanwhile, Blanco donned the women’s canvas Rover Low ($70), which is designed with a soft contoured footbed and foam midsole. When the pro surfer hit the beach, she rocked the Rover Catch sandals ($45), which feature a faux Nubuck strap and moisture wicking mesh liner.
The styles incorporate Reef’s Swellular technology that incorporates a cushy foam footbed that enhances comfort.
Recently, some of the ambassadors participated in Reef’s We Heart humanitarian initiative to support education programs for child refugees in Greece.
The label contributed $10,000 to build schools and buy materials for the Oinofyta and Ritsona refugee camps — where resources are limited for many young Syrian, Afghani and other Middle Eastern children.
“This is a global issue happening now that many of us aren’t aware of in the U.S.,” Reef public relations manager Chelsea Rauhut told Footwear News. “It is important for us to help shed light on a timely issue and inspire support to help these people.”
Reef also provided children with footwear and apparel.
