Nike Trail has revealed the latest updates to its two original off-road running footwear franchises.
The athletic giant — which launched its modern trail business unit in 2014 — offered a look at two shoes that will arrive in April 2025: Kiger 10 and ReactX Wildhorse 10. The looks, according to Nike Trail, are “complementary models designed to the exact specifications of trail runners everywhere.”
Nike explained in a statement that because the trail can serve as an entry point to running, it created its new Kiger and Wildhorse models to “deliver an inspired blend of comfort and performance for training runs, ultramarathons and everything in between.”
The Kiger 10, the brand stated, is among its most “minimal and lightweight trail shoes to date,” and described the look as a “low-profile silhouette built for trail races under 50K.”

It features Vibram Megagrip outsoles, a first in this line, with improved traction and durability specifically in high-wear forefoot and heel areas. It also has multidirectional 3.5mm lugs to both offer grip on the ascent and allow the wearer to “brake with confidence on the way back down” in all conditions. Aside from the outsole, Nike included other tech, such as a forefoot rock shield and responsive Cushlon 3.0 midsoles.
The Kiger 10 also features sleek, leno weave uppers with durability, breathability and containment zones, and offer drainage on wet runs. The uppers are completed with soft collars and secure heel pockets keep the foot in place.
“If you want a fast, low-profile shoe that’s going to be able to handle any type of terrain, up to a 50K or so, this is the shoe for you,” said Nike Trail athlete Bailey Kowalczyk, who the brand identified as a muse for the Kiger. “It feels fast, precise and stable on everything from flats to steep, technical terrain, and I can confidently say it is the performance shoe for sub-50K trail racing.”
As for the ReactX Wildhorse 10, it is one of the brand’s rugged off-road models, built with “an abundance of traction, cushioned responsiveness and trusted containment.” The ReactX Wildhorse 10, according to Nike, was created “to serve a wide spectrum of trail uses.”
The shoe features a 3mm taller stack height that its predecessor, as well as a forefoot rock shield and updated toe protection. Despite this, Nike stated it was able to reduce the weight by 35 grams from its predecessor.
Nike built the ReactX Wildhorse 10 with long-lasting ReactX foam underfoot, which it said provides 13 percent more energy return “while cutting the midsoles’ carbon footprint by at least 43 percent in comparison to Nike React foam.” Also, it features the brand’s All-Terrain Compound outsole with 4mm lugs for grip and durability in all conditions.
“The Wildhorse is very personal to me. It’s always been dependable, always been reliable: No matter the terrain or the weather, the Wildhorse performs, holds up and goes the distance,” ultrarunner Sally McRae, a Nike Trail athlete and muse for the silhouette, said in a statement. “I’ll be running my next 200-mile race in the Wildhorse — both because I truly love this new model and because I want to show athletes that you can dream big without wearing the most expensive flagship shoe.”
