Usually Mat Fraser wears the Swoosh during his CrossFit WODs. But this weekend, he sported the Delta while winning big at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, Calif.
Fraser, a Nike-sponsored athlete, won his first-ever Reebok CrossFit Games, which concluded Sunday at the StubHub Center. The athlete wore several Reebok shoes built for the sport, including silhouettes from the brand’s acclaimed Nano franchise. Fraser’s first-place performance came on the heels of two consecutive second-place finishes in the Reebok CrossFit Games.
The Nike-sponsored CrossFitter was used in the promotions for the Metcon 2, the athletic label’s training shoe built to withstand the toughest and most rigorous of CrossFit WODs. Fraser was featured in the brand’s “Inner Strength” workout video series that showcased how some of Nike’s athletes prepare for competition.
On the women’s side, Katrin Davidsdottir won her second-straight Reebok CrossFit Games. The 23-year-old Davidsdottir is a two-time Reebok CrossFit Games winner who has participated in four tries.
