Nike unveiled in September an adaptation of a classic basketball shoe made for the golf course for pro golfer Michelle Wie. Now all women golfers can pick up a pair.
The Nike Women’s Nike Blazer Golf Shoe arrives in stores Thursday with a $170 retail price.
The Blazer, a basketball silhouette that debuted in 1972, has become a lifestyle favorite among sneakerheads, and now is sure to be a staple on the golf course. The shoe is designed to keep golfers dry and comfortable for all 18 holes, and it features a waterproof upper and a Nike Free-inspired sole for natural flexibility and a comfortable stride. The shoe also boasts rubber traction pods for stability and grip, and a one-year limited waterproof warranty.

But the shoe’s look may trump its features. The shoe features a striking leopard-print upper with a black Swoosh on each side, a black heel panel with gold Nike branding, and a black tongue topped with a gold Nike Golf logo. The midsole of the shoe is black with gold speckles, and the outsole is white with gold speckles.
Joël Greenspan, footwear designer for Nike Golf, said in a statement in September that Wie asked the brand to create a high-top golf shoe for her, and the Blazer — a shoe Wie admitted to wearing while celebrating her 2014 U.S. Open win in New York City — was the perfect silhouette to reimagine.
