Merrell is teaming up with Parks Project, a grassroots streetwear brand dedicated to preserving national parks, to launch a limited-edition plant-inspired footwear and apparel collection.
The collection, designed in a range of vibrant colorways and innovative activewear designs, will feature a special iteration of the Moab 3 hiking shoe. The reimagined footwear silhouette, which is typically crafted with an eco-friendly design including 100 percent recycled laces, webbing and mesh lining, will be made with a pioneering mushroom biobased material that serves as a plastic alternative and is 100 percent biobased and biodegradable.
In addition to the change in material, the hiking shoe will feature several design details from the original Moab 3 including a Kinetic Fit advanced footbed for a more comfortable stride, a Best-in-class Vibram TC5+ outsole for optimal traction on any terrain and a Merrell Air Cushion for maximum shock absorption.
The remainder of the collaboration will include a limited-edition head-to-toe capsule collection of long—and short-sleeve tees, a crewneck and quarter-zip fleece, a fleece jogger and shorts, a bucket hat and hiking socks.
The entire collection will be available to shop on Merrell.com, and Parksproject.com, beginning June 5.
