“House of the Dragon” fans can prepare to hike through Westeros with Merrell‘s upcoming collection.
The outdoor footwear brand has partnered with the hit HBO series to release three new shoes inspired by its fantasy storyline, which serves as a prequel to the iconic “Game of Thrones.” The shoes will be made available throughout August and September, following the show’s Season 2 finale in early August.
The $170 House Targaryen-themed shoe, a version of the brand’s Agility Peak 5 designed for trail running, is offered in a yellow colorway and slated for release on Aug. 17. Next up, the $170 House Hightower shoe, an iteration of the Moab Speed 2 designed for moderate-level hiking, is a turquoise-hued shoe available Aug. 25. Lastly, the $140 House Velaryon is a red and black take on the rugged hiking boot Moab 3, releasing Sept. 7. All of the shoes feature a dragon-shaped metal detail on the laces.
Devon Vanoostveen, brand marketing manager at Merrell, commented, “We’ve forged an alliance with the House of the Dragon. Inspired by the show’s noble houses, Merrell is introducing special editions of the Agility Peak 5, Moab 3, and Moab Speed 2. Each shoe embodies the spirit of a different house, from the Targaryens and Valeryons to the Hightowers.”
Vanoostveen continued, “Fans of both Merrell and House of the Dragon can now step into their own epic adventures, whether conquering rugged peaks or navigating treacherous terrain. The collaboration celebrates loyalty, resilience, and the timeless allure of mythical worlds.”
This isn’t the first “House of the Dragon” shoe collaboration. Nalebe recently partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch two pairs of boots, Team Black and Team Green — representing, respectively, House Targaryen and House Hightower.
In other recent Merrell partnerships, the company teamed up with Greyson Clothiers to create a new version of the Agility Peak 5 Zero Gore-Tex shoe.
