Basketball superstars such as Stephen Curry and James Harden have worn their respective signature shoes on the court this season. But LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is still hitting the hardwood in his Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 that debuted in the 2016 NBA Finals.
While talk of a new signature shoe for the three-time NBA champion has been going on since the end of last season, and Nike remaining mum on any details of a new sneaker release, fans of the baller and his kicks received a little hope via Instagram this week.
The Cavaliers posted a video on the social media platform during a shootaround of its star forward wearing an unfamiliar shoe. The black-and-white clip showed James in a dark-colored shoe with a mid-foot strap bearing light-colored Swoosh branding. The shoe also features James’ logo on the heel tab and what appears to be the Zoom Air pods on the outsole that are reminiscent of earlier Nike LeBron models.
A sketch of the shoe has also circulated on Instagram this week, and it resembles the look James wore in the video. Nike routinely posts sketches of several shoes it releases when it unveils a new model.
On Thursday, ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamin fueled the new James sneaker talk with a tweet stating the pro baller was in the currently unreleased Nike LeBron 14 in practice.
