Legendary DJ, sneakerhead and author Bobbito Garcia has teamed up with French footwear brand Piola for a collaborative collection of sneakers. The first shoe of the collection drops in March.
The Bobbito Garcia x Piola “Por Fin” arrives on March 25.
“I named the first model for my Piola collection ‘Por Fin’ because in Spanish it means ‘At Last.’ I’ve been drawing sneakers and logos since 1980 when I was in high school, and started customizing/accessorizing my shoes even before that,” Garcia said in a statement. “In the last 10-plus years, I’ve been blessed to do collabs with the top brands, but those have always been me putting my spin on an already iconic silhouette. Piola is very creative artistically/socially and has given me the opportunity to start from scratch.”

The “Por Fin” – which will be available in men and women’s sizes – is an elegant shoe with construction reminiscent of 1970’s silhouettes popular in New York paired with the brand’s high-end manufacturing. The clean shoe has minimal branding, with “Bobbito” stitched on the heel of each shoe.
Garcia, co-host of the iconic New York-based radio show “The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show” on WKCR, also penned the book “Where Did You Get Those? New York City’s Sneaker Culture 1960-1987.”
