Nearly four years after their first collection together, Birkenstock has teamed up again with Lingua Franca for the second iteration of their “Give a Damn” collection.

This latest collection features the New York-based Lingua Franca’s signature script embroidery applied on two premium Arizona sandals. The signature “Give a Damn” appears on the top strap of Birkenstock’s signature contoured cork footbed sandals.

The style, which retails for $350, is available in men’s and women’s sizes and comes in black and white leather colorways. According to Birkenstock, 10 percent of proceeds from each pair sold will be donated directly to Surfrider Foundation.

“We were thrilled by the overwhelming response to our first collection and are delighted to partner with our friends at Lingua Franca once again,” David Kahan, president of Birkenstock Americas, said in a statement. “Together, we are excited to offer our fans these sandals that serve as a daily reminder to engage with what truly matters and find meaningful ways to make a difference.”

In celebration of the partnership, Lingua Franca, which best known for its sustainably sourced, fair-trade cashmere sweaters, will be pairing the sandals with a capsule collection od sweaters, totes, jewelry and more.

“I’ve been a devoted Birkenstock fan for as long as I can remember,” added Rachelle Hruska MacPherson, founder of Lingua Franca. “We have been working hard to bring this second collection to life and I couldn’t be more excited continue spreading our ‘Give a Damn’ message.”

To highlight the collection, the duo will release a campaign shot by Mikey DeTemple in east New York, from Rockaway to Montauk. The series of photos feature members of the local surfing community, including professional surfer Quincy Davis alongside her mother Paulette Davis, surfer and artist Tony Caramanico, Surf School founder Farmata Dia and professional surfer Leif Engstorm. The campaign also ties into the collection’s give-back component, benefitting the Surfrider Foundation, which works to protect and preserve the world’s oceans and beaches.

The limited-edition Birkenstock and Lingua Franca collection will be available on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at select Birkenstock and Lingua Franca stores and on the brand’s websites.

This launch follows the August release of the Birkenstock’s new Birki Flow water-resistant clog that takes inspiration from the German footwear brand’s original vented clog from 1995. According to Birkenstock, the lifestyle-inspired iteration of its professional clog is engineered for post-sport recovery, rest days and any occasion in between.

In May, the footwear brand released the Birki Air 2.0, a ventilated clog remastered from the brand’s original Birki Air from the mid-90s. The updated style features a new technical design featuring orthopedic functions created specifically for those working in industries including healthcare, hospitality and more.

The focus on product comes as Birkenstock continues to see revenues increase since becoming a public company last year. In August, the 250-year-old German footwear company reported revenue increased 19 percent in the third quarter to 565 million euros, up from 473 million in the same time last year.
