You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to take home the gold, because this weekend, Jordan Brand is releasing a podium-worthy Air Jordan V “Gold Medal” colorway just ahead of the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.
This special Olympic colorway uses the iconic Jordan V model from 1990, which was worn by Michael Jordan during highlight performances such as his career-high 69-point game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Air Jordan V “Gold Medal” is built around a white leather upper and accented with black on the midsole and lining. Elsewhere, gold medal-inspired details include metallic hits on the midsole, lace lock, and most prominently, the tongue.
This premium Air Jordan V, which has also been nicknamed “Gold Coin,” will be a general release available from Jordan Brand retailers worldwide for $190 on Saturday. An online release will take place via Nike SNKRS at 10 a.m. ET.
