The trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” is filled with nostalgic references for longtime fans of the franchise, from Toby Maguire to the resurgence of Doctor Octopus. But at the end of the trailer, sneakerheads got a shoutout as well, as Peter Parker was seen wearing a pair of Air Jordan 1s.
And they weren’t your typical Jordans, but the Air Jordan 1 “Hyper Crimson,” which takes its name from the the shoe’s crimson-colored collar. In addition, it features gray suede overlays and a gray leather base. The scene comes toward the beginning of the trailer, where Parker and his girlfriend MJ are laying on a roof to avoid the public. Fans of the series were quick to crop images from the trailer to figure out exactly what model of shoe Parker was wearing.
The “Hyper Crimson” is available on the resale market. On StockX the prices range anywhere from $335 for a size 14 to $700 for a size 16. While on Stadium Goods there are less options available as prices range from $335 for a size 18 to $769 for a size 8.
Spider-Man has been associated with Air Jordan 1s since the 2018 animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” where Miles Morales wore Air Jordan 1 “Chicago.” The sneakers, which play off of the classic Air Jordan style, are a perfect fit for the film series. Though it is set in the present day, it plays heavily on the retro style when the original Spider-Man comics were made in the 1960s.
