Adidas has dropped a Predator 30 special edition pack to celebrate three decades of innovation for football’s most legendary boot franchise.
The revamped Predator 30 silhouette includes details that pay homage to the footwear’s history, including unique foldover tongues and the Predator ‘Eyes’ logo, which appears on the underside of said tongues. Other details include built-in rubber fins and a tongue strap allowing players to style the boot as desired.
The new model features a lux burgundy, black and white colorway that pays homage to earlier iterations’ classic red, black and white appearance. Changes made to the iconic silhouette were made utilizing consumers’ feedback. The Predator 30 boot was first released in 1994. Only 1994 pairs of the new model will be available about the Predator 30’s release year.
The new and improved Predator 30 was worn on the pitch exclusively by Jude Bellingham on Wednesday while playing for Real Madrid against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League for the first time.
“The introduction of the Predator franchise completely changed how people thought about football boots, both from a performance and a marketing perspective. Over the years, it’s been worn by some of the greatest players of players of their generations, in some of the game’s most historic moments,” said Adidas’ VP of Product and Design Sam Handy. “Reflecting on the last three decades of innovation, we felt the time was right to hit a reset and be inspired by the elements that first made Predator so popular – its look, feel and focus on goalscoring. We’re sure admirers of the early Predator models will be delighted to see the famous tongue making a comeback, and we hope newer fans will enjoy rocking the tongue on pitch for the first time.”
