Although there are still a few months left in 2016, the Adidas NMD is clearly an early frontrunner for the year’s best sneaker. Despite dozens of releases and a handful of different versions, nearly every NMD release thus far has experienced a speedy sellout. That will likely be the case come Sept. 17 as well, when Adidas Originals debuts the first NMD sneakers with colored Boost cushioning.
Known simply as the “Color Boost” pack, this trio of colorways is most noteworthy for being the first NMD sneakers to utilize colored Boost technology, which made its first appearance on the Adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged in July.
This pack includes two colorways of the Adidas NMD R1 in black and red, along with an all black colorway of the recently released NMD XR1 variant. These are the first NMD sneakers to deviate from the traditionally white Adidas Boost cushioning.

Like many of Adidas Originals’ most popular sneakers, the NMD “Color Boost” pack was made available for in-store reservations via the Adidas Confirmed app. However, sign ups have already been closed, so you’ll need to pursue other avenues to purchase these if you weren’t able to make a reservation.
The Adidas NMD “Color Boost” pack launches on Sept. 17 with each sneaker priced at $140. All three will be available from adidas.com and select Adidas Originals retailers.
