Adidas continues to expand its roster of sponsored basketball players with the signing of Kelly Oubre Jr. and Terry Rozier.
“Kelly and Terry are outstanding athletes with incredible passion for the game and unique style off the court,” said Chris Grancio, global basketball GM for Adidas, in a statement. “We’re moving in a new direction, and adding the best young talent is essential to building a successful future. We’re excited to welcome them both to the Adidas Basketball family.”
Oubre, the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, will suit up for the Washington Wizards this season. He was a standout in college for the Kansas Jayhawks and a high school star, being named to the 2014 McDonald’s All-American team. During his one and only season at Kansas, the 6-foot-7 guard averaged 9.9 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Rozier, the 16th overall draft pick for the Boston Celtics, played two seasons for the Louisville Cardinals in college, leading the team in scoring as a sophomore, averaging 17.1 points per game.
Adidas said in a statement that the two rookies will be featured in the brand’s upcoming initiatives and will help in the development of basketball footwear and apparel.
Oubre and Rozier are the newest members of the brand’s roster of sponsored basketball players, which includes James Harden of the Houston Rockets, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.
