While the Easter Bunny is the king of candy sales, athletic brands continue to offer their own sweet treats.
Adidas today said it planned to release its collection “inspired by the tradition of dyed eggs” on Easter Sunday. The news for the German company comes a day after Under Armour and Nike both announced special holiday colorways for their own basketball stars, including Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Kobe Bryant.
For Adidas, the collection features the D Lillard 2 as well as the Crazylight Boost 2.5 for Houston Rockets guard James Harden and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins.
The James Harden Crazylight Boost, set to retail for $130, will be offered in shades of haze salmon, with hints of light pink throughout. The styles also feature soft leather on the forefoot and a translucent outsole.
For the D Lillard 2, the signature shoe for Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, Adidas used a dyed Easter egg graphic on the upper with mesh paneling and laces in pink pastel colors. The outsole also sticks with traditional Easter colors, incorporating light blue accents on the outsole and midsole.
The Andrew Wiggins Crazylight Boost, meanwhile, also includes egg graphics with a gloss finish on the forefoot. Light gray accents gets paired with pink on the outsole.
The sneakers will be sold on Adidas’ website.
