Puma’s new collaboration with French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi finally has a release date.
First seen at the designer’s spring/summer 2025 runway show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in June, the duo have transformed Puma’s Mostro shoe into a backless slip-on mule.
This version is crafted from molded EVA foam and highlights the Mostro’s distinctive anatomical sole and signature spikes. The style is available in LGN’s signature colors of deep black and bone white.
Following his spring/summer 2025 show, Nouchi revealed more about his unique Mostro noting, “I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker.”
The Puma Mostro was originally introduced over 25 years ago, containing design references to vintage track and surfing footwear. Known today for its distinct look, the silhouette takes its name from the Italian word for “monster.”
This new collaboration marks the latest interpretation of Puma’s signature Mostro style. Perhaps its most notable recent tie-up on the silhouette is with rap super star A$AP Rocky. The collaboration between Puma and Rocky saw the birth of the 3D printed Mostro, which help the duo land the Collaboration of the Year award at the 2024 FNAAs in December.
The shoe brought Rocky’s “Grim” vision to life through the use of Carbon Digital Light Synthesis (Carbon DLS), a resin-based 3D-printing process that reimagined the recently revived archival sneaker as an alien slip-on.
Puma’s Mostro shoe was also updated in September by London-based luxury streetwear brand Aries. For this collab, the Mostro was reworked with a mixture of mesh, neoprene, and suede on the upper. Aries’ take on the Mostro also featured an elastic closure with an adjustable toggle at the rear.
The new Puma x LGN Mostro Mule, which retails for $158, will be available starting Jan. 23 through LGN’s website, and from Jan. 25 at selected retailers.
