Viral ‘Godzilla: Minus One’ Oscars 2024 Shoes Will Be Available for Purchase

Fans of “Godzilla: Minus One” will soon be able to buy the claw-embellished shoes worn by the film’s crew at the 96th Annual Academy Awards.

Created by Hazama, a Japanese brand founded by designer Matsui Ryosuke, the Godzilla-inspired dress shoes and pumps were worn by Takashi Yamazaki, Masaki Takahashi, Kiyoko Shibuya and Tatsuji Nojima, the team behind “Godzilla: Minus One” visual effects, on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday. The team ended up winning the award for Best Visual Effects on the same night.

“Thank you very much for the many responses and inquiries regarding Godzilla shoes! We are also considering selling Godzilla shoes in some form overseas around the summer. Therefore, if you are interested in purchasing Godzilla shoes, we would appreciate it if you could wait for information from our brand for a while,” Ryosuke posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday.

The Godzilla shoes were originally unveiled in October 2023 as part of a full collaborative collection, which included other styles like a boot where the heel was made to resemble the spikes from Godzilla’s back. The collection also boasted an eau de parfum as well as apparel and accessories.

Currently, Hazama has other campy shoe styles available for purchase, including a dress shoe with vampire denture in the place of heels. The shoes are priced at 95,000 JPY (about $642).

The brand has encouraged those interested to follow them on social media to keep up-to-date with updates.
