Dr. Martens revealed its latest footwear creation, their Crewson boot. The culmination of six years of Dr. Martens’ innovations, the new combat-style boot marries the brand’s classic silhouette with its “lightest” construction to date.
The innovative new style retails for $160 and comes in “Black,” “Gunmetal Buffbuck,” “Dark Brown Crazy Horse” and “DMS Olive Buffbuck” styles in a range of both men’s and women’s sizes.
The boots are crafted with textural Buffbuck nubuck that’s soft and flexible straight out of the box, no break-in required. Buffbuck is a naturally worn nubuck leather that feels soft to the touch.
Crafted with functionality in mind, the boot features Dr. Martens’ newly evolved tooling along with their lightweight Crewson rubber and PU utilitarian outsole which transitions into the internal SoftWair insock that provides the wearer with immediate cushion and comfort.
The footwear features their instantly recognizable bright yellow stitching along with their scripted heel-loop and embossed logo detailing on the tongue. The footbed is wider and features a more rounded toe shape.
Dr. Martens’ Crewson boot is available for purchase now on their website.
Founded in 1947, Dr. Martens is a German-founded British footwear and apparel brand with individuality at its core. The company originally began making humble workwear boots and even sold their wears as gardening shoes at one point. The inventor of Dr. Martens Klaus Marten was a doctor in the German Army during World War II. Marten returned to Madrid in 1945 following a foot injury he sustained during the war. The brand’s name references the inventor’s former profession.
The shoe style we know today was created in Germany and became a huge part of popular culture. The brand’s iconic yellow-stitched footwear was massive in the grunge and punk scene in the ’90s, and has since become a closet staple for many generations.
