Converse Partners With Topo Chico & Victor ‘Marka27’ Quinonez on Effervescent Shoe Collection
Converse is releasing three new limited-edition sneakers in partnership with sparkling mineral water Topo Chico and Mexican-American muralist Victor “Marka27” Quinonez. The three shoes feature Quinonez’s playful Topo Chico-inspired designs, a nod to the brand’s Mexican heritage, along with a glass green sole, a nod to the bottle.
The Converse x Topo Chico Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Top is made of off-white canvas with a tattoo-inspired floral design and the Topo Chico logo on the tongue and side of the classic silhouette. It retails for $90.
The Converse x Topo Chico Chuck Taylor All Star Ox low-top shoes are made of black canvas covered in smaller flowers along with Topo Chico bottles and phrases in Spanish in English: “Bien Fria / Serve Cold” and “Que Sabrosa!” (which translates to “How tasty!”). The bodega-inspired kicks also feature a fun bottle cap design on the midsole and along the insole. They retail for $70.
Finally, Converse’s Fastbreak Pro, an 80s basketball-meets-skate-shoe design, gets a subtle Topo Chico makeover. A white and off-white suede and leather upper gets a pop of yellow along the ankle with Quinonez’s Mexican “Neo Indigenous” gold line graphics along the inner ankle collar. The Converse x Topo Chico Fastbreak Pro retails for $75.

The Converse x Topo Chico is available on May 2 and includes a limited-edition shirt and hoodie. The digs will be available to purchase at Converse.com/launch, select Converse stores in New York City, Boston and Glendale, Calif. and select Zumiez stores.
