Kendrick Lamar‘s PgLang has a fresh Converse drop on the way.
Following their first collaboration in 2022, the duo teamed up again to deliver two subtle variations of the iconic Converse Chuck 70. Combining black canvas and white rubber on the upper, the shoe’s mismatched midsole piping comes in either red on the right with Irish Cream on the left shoe, or navy pinstriping on the left with Irish Cream on the right.
Both colorways are equipped with hiking-style eyelets and PgLang branding. The insoles and outsoles are complete with messages and graphics that tout PgLang’s “mission of transcending language.”
The collaboration’s second installment introduces a new experience in which Converse will ship one of the two new variations at random. “In an age of choice abundance where decision paralysis awaits us at every turn, Converse and pgLang are letting luck decide which pair is right for you,” a press release revealed.
Converse’s initial launch with PgLang saw them collaborate on white versions of the popular Chuck 70 and the Pro Leather silhouettes. Both styles featured the same clean appearance and hiking-inspired metal grommets along the tongue.
Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar co-founded PgLang with filmmaker and frequent collaborator Dave Free in 2020. Along with the launch, Free released a statement that said, “In this overstimulated time, we are focused on cultivating raw expression from grassroots partnerships.”
Prior to the launch of PgLang, Lamar on his own linked with Reebok and Nike, releasing an ultra-popular take on the classic Cortez model.
The PgLang for Converse experience is slated to launch on Converse.com and PgLang come Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. EST.
