Oasis’ Liam Gallagher and Clarks Continue Their Relationship with Second Collaboration Reviving Y2K Footwear Style
Liam Gallagher’s love of Clarks goes back to his childhood — and he isn’t turning his back on the brand now. The English rock star and the 200-year-old English footwear brand are slated to release their second collaboration, a reinterpretation of another archival silhouette, on March 20. The release follows their first collaboration in 2022, which quickly sold out.
“I wore Clarks all the way through the ’90s…I don’t think there is any other [shoe] brand for me, really…I find it hard to even look at other brands…Clarks have never let me down,” the Oasis frontman said in the documentary celebrating the brand’s 200th anniversary, “Somerset to the World: Clarks 200,” directed by Set Free Richardson.
The next collaboration brings back the Clarks Desert Rain, a rare style first introduced in the early 2000s. The reinvention of the style stays loyal to Clarks heritage while incorporating Gallagher’s flair. The shoe features a pebble crepe outsole and a jumbo cotton cord upper in Clarks’ tonal suede colorway. Gallagher’s silhouette branding is showcased on the heel, and a double-sided suede fob features Clarks Originals branding on one side and Gallagher’s silhouette on the other. Leather lining and tonal lace also contribute to the look and feel of the shoe.

The Liam Gallagher x Clarks Originals LG Desert Rain is marked at a price of $160. Fans in England will have the chance to buy the shoe on March 19, one day in advance of the release, at the Clarks Originals Berwick Street store in London and the Kings Street store in Manchester.
Gallagher wore Clarks as a schoolboy and notably later on as Oasis made waves in the rock scene in the 1990s. He commented on his partnership with the longstanding brand, “Clarks is a sophisticated shoe. It’s like a Bentley or an old Rolls-Royce—classic.”
The first collaboration between the two, the Clarks Originals LG Rambler, was born of Gallagher’s urging Clarks to revive the discontinued Rambler. He doesn’t exclusively wear Clarks, however, as he has also collaborated with Adidas.
As Clarks celebrates a major milestone, Oasis is getting ready for a reunion tour.
Gallagher said, “My favorite Clarks shoes are the ones that are on my feet, Desert Rain.” He continued, “I know when I put on Clarks. Like when I put these [Clarks Desert Rain] on today, I feel proper.”
