The beloved children’s book “Pat the Bunny” is getting a fashionable tribute for its 75th anniversary. Written by Dorothy Kunhardt and originally published in 1940, “Pat the Bunny” has been a favorite of generations of children, loved for its simple and charming touch-and-feel format.
Now, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, founder of lifestyle blog Romy & the Bunnies, has curated a limited-edition, 14-piece collection of mommy-and-me items in honor of the book’s birthday, including several shoe styles by Charlotte Olympia. The line will debut at London-based Harrods on March 21.
Inspired by the best-selling book, designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal created the Patty ballet flat and the Hop To It sandal for women and girls.
Restoin Roitfeld took to Instagram to share her excitement about the whimsical shoes, writing: “Like mother like daughter, so excited to reveal these @charlotte_olympia bunny slippers issued from my children’s website @romy_thebunnies collaboration with children’s book #patthebunny.”
The collection also features clothing by French children’s-wear label Bonpoint and baby blankets by American brand Aden + Anais, which shot into the spotlight after Britain’s Prince George was seen leaving the hospital wrapped in one of its swaddling blankets.
Following the Harrods debut next week, all of the items in the collection will be available for purchase through all Charlotte Olympia, Bonpoint and Aden + Anais’ retail channels as well.
