“Emilia Pérez” star Karla Sofía Gascón has made history as the first openly transgender actress to be nominated for an Academy Award. Alongside castmates Zoë Saldaña and Selena Gomez, Gascón embarked on a press tour which delivered a multitude of stylish ensembles, and the cast continues to dress to impress now that awards season is underway. “Emilia Pérez,” which follows a cartel boss retiring and transitioning to live as a woman, leads the Oscar nominations with 13 nods; the Academy Awards will take place on March 2.
Attending various events related to the film over the course of several months, Gascón has showcased a number of fashionable ensembles including elegant footwear, ranging from heeled sandals to classic pumps. See below for the sophisticated looks displayed by the actress, who has already taken home a Golden Globe for her performance as the title character in the film.
