For spring, luxury designers aim to stand out on the shoe floor with sculpted silhouettes and unusual shapes. The looks here are commanding — and the architectural details are used in a fashion that doesn’t sacrifice wearability.
Christian Louboutin added extra oomph to the pink pump via a squiggle heel. Fendi and Nicholas Kirkwood made use of curved heels — a fun way to add visual interest and update classic styles.
Jimmy Choo played with a stacked heel, finished in different wood grains. Tamara Mellon and Sarah Flint used cutouts for their statement heels.
Wedge heels also got the sculptural treatment.
Balenciaga used an elastic ankle band to create a style with clean, modern lines, while Alexander Wang toyed with the idea of a missing footbed, using an shaped wedge for foot support.
The key to wearing these shoes? Let them do the talking via a monochromatic outfit or a cropped pant, which is perfect for shoe showcasing.
