The mood: From the Tate’s Duveen Galleries, the models took on the air of artful dodgers as they took cover in oversize outerwear and made-for-walking boots.
The front row: Sukie Waterhouse, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Pixie Geldof, Olivia Palermo
The shoes: Footwear took a historical turn this season, with show notes citing “Tudor rebel” Anne Boelyn as inspiration for the accessories and pointed-toe, heeled Chelsea boots. A bit of a stretch, figuratively maybe, but traditional side elasticized panels were replaced with Perspex.
The verdict: The collection’s uneven stride extended to shoes. While clear-strapped mules worn with socks were a head-scratcher, those Boelyn boots, when done in rich goldenrod velvet, were tops.
