Fall’s essential boot styles are ultra-vampy this season. The tall silhouette — which is making a return after seasons and seasons of an ankle-boot focus — goes for extra impact in printed suedes and stiletto heels.

To make the style feel fresh again — thigh-highs can quickly veer into ’90s territory, and not the good kind — try pairing the boots with a sleek knee-length skirt.

High-end labels offered a bevy of takes on the trend. Burberry Prorsum’s statement style used color-blocked patches of suede in fall hues. Aquazzura offered corset-style toe-to-top lacing, giving the suede boot a Victorian touch.

While eye-catching, Givenchy’s leather style with a pin-thin heel may be more suitable for some sort of lavish soirée — preferably one where you only need to make a 10 minute appearance (skinny heels can be torturous).

The thigh-high did make an appearance in lower heel heights this season as well. Gianvito Rossi’s suede block-heel style, a comfier option, could be worn with jeans all around town — minus the aching feet.
