Taft is observing World Mental Health Day, on Oct. 10, by releasing its exclusive Mental Health Awareness apparel and accessories collection.
The limited-edition collection aims to bring awareness to an important cause that resonates with many, including Taft’s co-founder Kory Stevens.
Many of the slogans featured on the clothing and accessories in the collection are inspired by Stevens’ personal mental health journey. Key pieces featured in the exclusive collection include Taft’s Deep Breaths hat which comes in versatile “Pine” and “Sand” colorways, the ultra-cozy Take Care long sleeve in “Navy” and “Gray” and the Take Care crew socks featuring whimsical graphics in “Black,” “Oxblood,” “Dark Green” and “Cream.” Each piece retails for $50 and under.
10% of the proceeds from the Mental Health Awareness Collection to two esteemed organizations: Made of Millions and Mental Health America.
“At Taft, we understand that balancing business and personal mental health struggles is a daily battle,” said Stevens via a statement. “It affects absolutely everything I do – my emails, my meetings, my phone calls, my interactions. When a personal problem is so present and on my sleeve, I can’t separate it from my work. I think it makes me a good leader. It makes me a kind, patient friend. I think it even extends to our customers – they feel a personal, emotional connection to this brand, and it’s because we have been open and public about what each of us is facing.”
Taft is a direct-to-consumer men’s footwear brand that specializes in manufacturing shoe silhouettes that are as bold and unique as the wearer. The brand was in 2014 by Kory Stevens and offers handcrafted shoes made by global artisans with a range of textiles including suiting wool, woven upholstery fabric and Charles F. Stead leather.
