We’re highlighting the top men’s shoe moments from the Pitti Uomo trade show this week in Florence, Italy.
Day 3
Alexia Aubert debuted her French unisex label Soloviere just three years ago, but her men’s offering in particular is on a serious growth path. For fall ’17, the designer unveiled soft, unlined constructions on sneakers and loafers. A caramel suede slip-on style, with fox fur detailing, especially evokes that easy Parisian style — with just the right amount of flourish.
Day 2
Hiking never looked so good. Italian brand Diemme — which produces its shoes in Onè di Fonte, Veneto — updates its signature mountaineering boots this season in new, unexpected suede colorways, such as salmon pink and deep purple. With the outdoor footwear trend already taking London and Pitti Uomo, the style couldn’t be more “right now.” (However, these might be better for the city streets than actually getting rough-and-tumbled.)
Day 1
Baldinini took classics to a whole new level for fall ’17. The Italian-based brand focused on chunky creeper soles this season, adding them onto more conservative dress silhouettes such as penny loafers and laceups. But the best part? The lug soles are made in a lightweight construction, meaning you get the clunky look without feeling like you’re wearing bricks.
