The mood: Top girls, atop serious platforms.
The shoes: Satin and velvet sandals and Mary Janes seemed set on fulfilling childhood fantasies of dressing up — candy-colored satins, jewel-tone velvet and a hearty smattering of Bijoux on some — all done in a mega proportion.
They were charmingly styles with clashing silken socks. It was yet another example of legwear playing a major role in the overall footwear message this season. Stock that sock drawer.
The verdict: Designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua has an unusual talent for maximized shoe statements. While he intends it or not, they usually steal the show. That was definitely true here.
