The annual Pirelli Calendar is getting a makeover — a royal one, in fact — for its 50th anniversary
The yearly trade calendar’s star-studded lineup for its 2024 edition, aside from its landmark anniversary, will celebrate the 25th rule of King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s reign over the Ashanti kingdom in Ghana, Africa, under the theme “Timelessness.”
Among the selected stars shot by photographer Prince Gyasi across London and Ghana for the occasion are supermodel Naomi Campbell, who poses before a melting gold clock in a high-low black dress and bejeweled sandals.
Behind-the-scenes imagery by Alessandro Scotti from the calendar’s official shoots, as shared to the press, also includes an appearance from actress Angela Bassett. Bassett’s month found the “Black Panther” star gleaming in a sheer tiered gown with gold latticework overlay, holding an oversized golden key in front of a gilded doorway.

The starry lineup additionally features Idris Elba, who sparkles in a crystal-embellished coat and umbrella for a bejeweled rain droplet effect — complete with black leather and suede lace-up brogues for a dapper finish. Other celebrities in the calendar include Teyana Taylor, Amanda Gorman and even King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II himself.
The 2024 Pirelli Calendar is the latest addition in the calendar’s rich history, which first launched in 1964. Across fifty decades, the annual Pirelli UK Limited piece has expanded its presence in the market with models, actresses, royalty and more starring across a year’s 12 months, shot by numerous celebrated photographers — including Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, RuPaul, Bella and Gigi Hadid.
