Looks like another celebrity is entering the shoe scene. The new luxury men’s brand LVL XIII has tapped Jason Derulo as a brand ambassador and investor.
Derulo posted the news on his Instagram last week, and now we’ve got a first look at the fall ’16 shoes. The singer is teaming up with his manager Frank Harris and designer Antonio Brown on the collection, which will make its official debut during New York Fashion Week: Men’s in July.
Derulo was brought on board following a multimillion-dollar deal, a brand representative said.
On first sight, the offering is focused on updated classics. The styles — which are all made in Italy — include tri-colored leather boots, ponyhair zip-front sneakers and laser-cut oxfords.
LVL XIII is based in Atlanta and New York, and its shoes have been sold in retailers such as Fred Segal and Gregory’s.
Derulo is no stranger to fancy footwear. He’s been spotted in a number of statement sneaker styles, including gold Versace high-tops and red Jordan Brand 4s.
Brands are increasingly hiring celebrities as ambassadors. We’ve seen a variety of partnerships this past year, among them Gigi Hadid for Tommy Hilfiger and Sarah Hyland for Candie’s.
